Hello again! Sorry I've gone missing..but I have good news! I found an apartment! Now that I can get back in the swing of apartment decor, I've decided my first mini project to tackle will be (drumroll) RUGS! I did a quick search for rugs at Target, but I have to admit that I wasn't impressed. Any suggestions on where I can find a cool rug? I would like one for my kitchen and my living "room" area. I found this rug on overstock.com, and I think it's lovely. It would also complement my new brown couch. But they're way out of my price range! $177! I'm only an undergraduate, remember?!
I still haven't found the perfect apartment yet.....(help!) but in the meantime, I'm getting excited just thinking about being able to decorate my new place and stock my kitchen with knick knacks.
I'm a huge green tea person, so I fell in love with this simple and chic tea mug from the MoMA store: And how cute are these bird and cloud salt and pepper shakers?:
If I ever find an apartment, maybe I'll treat myself to one of these knick knacks. MoMa really does have some of the best stuff.
After hunting for a few months, I thought I finally found the perfect apartment. I went on a tour, saw the space, and talked to the leasing agent. Today, I went online to do some final research on the property only to find out that soo many reviewers complained of roach infestation!!
I know that online reviewers are mostly negative (you're more likely to take the time and go online if you have something a little disparaging to say), but what are the odds that reviewer after reviewer would have the same experience: They move in, a couple days later find a few roaches, management sends in an exterminator to spray, and a few days later the roaches are back.
I can't deal with roaches! Gross! For some reason this experience reminded me of my favorite movie, Coming to America, when Semi and Akeem live in that crappy apartment "for the experience." So classic!!

I'm in the beginning of my moving out process, which means I need to start thinking about how I will decorate my new apartment (I am so excited!). I found these pretty cool couches on Urban Outfitters, what do you guys think?
I want something simple, comfortable, and easy to design around. Any suggestions for where I should look? While I was living in Arizona, we made the mistake of buying this "pleather" couch that looked cool, but was an awkward size and sooo uncomfortable. You live and you learn!
I named my blog the undergraduate because I am one of the few people my age that went to college, got my bachelor's degree, and stopped. I needed a break from school, and I'm pretty sure school needed a break from me (enough is enough, am I right?!).
I'm pretty excited to share the things I encounter, the things I think are cool, and whatever else crosses my mind.
